MORNING IN THE YARD

The sun, it shines magestically
like jewels on a crown.
A mighty sense of harmony
Pervades this sleepy town.
A lizard stops to sun itself
upon a quiet rock.
A butterfly sits down nearby,
as if to stop and talk.
I'm getting very close now
but they do not seem to see.
The scene is like a painting
painted well, and in 3-D.
It touches something deep in me
that mends my shattered pride,
and makes me feel less angry
that I locked myself outside.
